Robert Coates - Secretary

Living the early years of his life in Halifax and the surrounding areas of Nova Scotia, Robert Coates (Bob) received a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Dalhousie University at the tender age of 20. After working as a manager for many well-known establishments such as the Lord Nelson and the Split Crow, Robert relocated to St. Stephen to raise a family. Bob, has spent the past 22 years as an active member of the community of St Stephen, that he has come to call home. Outside of his full time job as the scheduler for SWP Industries, his volunteer involvements include having been President of Minor Hockey and Minor Baseball, chair of the Border Area Arena and Referee in Chief for the St. Stephen Area, serving as a coach at all Minor Hockey levels, and for the past 8 years turning his coaching attention to the St. Stephen High School Lady Spartans Rugby and Hockey teams. He has been the recipient of many awards during that time including several coaching awards and Recreation and Parks Association of New Brunswick, Volunteer of the Year. Amongst all of his volunteer efforts he also found time to serve on the boards for the Border Arena, St. Stephen Minor Hockey, the Minor Hockey Council of New Brunswick and now the Charlotte County Civic Center. Bob hopes the civic centre project will bring our community together by using recreation as a backbone for improving the future of our town and the lives of everyone in it.
